Give it up for the athletes who scored a win at the 2024 ESPYS.
The annual award show—which celebrates the biggest names in sports—aired live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles July 11, and even host Serena Williams couldn't believe the star power in the room.
Going into the night, WNBA standout Caitlin Clark lead the way with three nominations for Best Athlete, Female as well as Best Record-Breaking Performance and Best College Athlete, Women's Sports.
But not too far behind her were Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and MLB star Shohei Ohtani, each hoping to pick up a second win for Best Athlete, Men's Sports for a chance to join LeBron James, Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods as the only athletes to win the category multiple times.
It was also a big night for first time nominee Coco Gauff, with the reigning U.S. Open title holder nominated alongside Clark for Best Athlete, Women's Sports—golfer Nelly Korda and basketball star A'ja Wilson round out the category—as well as going up against fellow tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek for Best Tennis Player.
Other first time nominees during the big event included those in the Best Breakthrough Athlete category: USC basketball player Juju Watkins, LSU gymnst Haleigh Bryant, Houston Texans football player C.J. Stroud and San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama.
But it wasn't just the sports pros bringing the star power to the room. Even royalty made an appearance with Prince Harry receiving the 2024 Pat Tillman Award for Service, an award created in 2014 to honor the former NFL player who left the sport to serve in the U.S. military after 9/11 and was killed by friendly fire in 2004 at the age of 27, for his work with the Invictus Games.
Keep reading to find out who else won at the 2024 ESPYS.
